GW Steps Challenge: Get your steps in! Get your steps in!

ONST_1516_18_GWSteps_HealthyGWSiteHeroFrom October 1st through the 29th, GW faculty, staff, and students will be facing off in a steps challenge. Everyone knows that exercise is good for your health, and studies show that walking not only boosts your energy, but it also relieves stress. So we are challenging you to #StepItUpGW and participate in the GW Steps Challenge.
Getting Started is Easy

  4. Start Walking

Your Device

Connect your Fitbit, Jawbone, Garmin, Misfit, Apple Watch or Withings. Don’t have a fitness tracker? Download the Moves or Fitbit App to your smartphone.
Team Challenge – Win a Beefsteak Lunch!

Across the university, all departments will be competing against each other in the team challenge for a free lunch from Beefsteak. The team with the highest cumulative step average wins. So, the more steps you have each day, the more you can help boost your team’s average. One catch – you must participate in the contest to be eligible to win.
Head-to-Head Challenge – Win an Apple Watch!

Not only will the teams be competing against each other, but each day of the challenge, participants will be randomly paired with a colleague or student in a head-to-head challenge. The thing to remember is that the individual with the highest head-to head win record will be awarded an Apple Watch. In the event of a tie, the Apple Watch will go to the individual with the highest daily step average.
